Multimedia Festival Marketing

For our forth design project on Digital Media BA at University of Leeds, we were tasked with creating a multiformat campaign for a festival. I chose to name my festival 'Burning Bridge' and set it in Hackney Fields, London. The festival focuses on mainly techno and edm genres. The London Borough of Hackney celebrates Hackney Carnival every year, a massive part of london culture. As Hackney is a centre for music in london, I decided techno and rave festivals here were a gap in the market. I wanted 'Burning Bridge' to break expectations, but remain sleek and neat in it's designs. Therefore, I chose greyscale and teal blue as my only colours. This is based off of a 'blue flame' (to play on burning), which is hotter and more risky than a yellow flame.

With my design concept in mind, I created a logo, main poster, poster series, festival pass designs, t-shirt mockups, merch mockups, 4 web pages (summarised as a site), and 2 web banners for my campaign. This allowed for a good balance between digital and physical design formats. To create my designs, I sourced my photos from adobe stock (free lisences) and used photoshop to manipulate them. I also used illustrator to create my logo and some of my posters, where I utlised vector tracing skills to create a clean, transparent svg logo. My designs were saved in suitable formats for their intended usage, listed next to each design, along with correct resoloutions and colour modes for print and digital.
